So. Me. What to tell you about me (J.B. Rockwell—this is my blog, if you’ve come here looking for someone else you’re in the wrong place). Anywho, back to me.
Well, I’m a New Englander, which is important to note because it means I’m (a) hard headed, (b) prone to stubbornness, and (c) snarky and sarcastic. I grew up reading fairy tales, folklore, mythology, basically anything and everything about ancient cultures and their history I could get my hands on. Oh, and I played in the dirt a lot so when it came time for college…drum roll…anthropology major! Yup! That’s me! *struts proudly*
Unfortunately…
Not a lot of work for anthropologists. And, I married someone in the military, which means lots of moving.
Frequent moving + anthropology = fail. *sad trombone*
So after a string of low-paying, unsatisfying jobs, I went back to school and earned a very practical (and very boring) MBA. That’s how I ended up in IT—GO FIGURE—and working for the Coast Guard, a job that is never boring and always rewarding. I write in my spare time and dream of the day I can quit and write exclusively—stop laughing, I said ‘dream’—and am fortunate to have a few things published (see the rest of my site for info on books and short stories out there in the real live world). Other spare time activities include people watching, cat collecting (I’ve got three now, which puts me that much closer to leveling up to Crazy Cat Lady), petting other people’s dogs, and yelling at stupid things for being stupid. Oh, and I’m an avid SFF fan so books, movies, anime, yadda-yadda-yadda, I love ‘em.
